4 Months

Hello my name is SHR TDK'S Sergeant Major Gunner, but everyone calls me Gunner. I am the newest addition to the FINZ-N-FEATHERS Team. Unfortunately I won't be able to go on any hunts with you all just yet, as I am still in puppy kindergarten. I will how ever make you all a promise to do my best, keep my grades up and study everyday. So that I may earn my place in the blind next fall. Keep a look out for me as updates on my progress are made available. See you all soon and good luck!

Gunner's Boat Basics 101

This was my first ride in the boat. I was a little apprehensive at first about that big noisy tub. After a few minutes of sniffing things out I was cool with it, plus my feet felt sturdy under me, so I guess it's not much different then the ground. Once I got over the noise of that garden tractor sounding thing the guys call a mud motor I was on it! I was cruising all around the boat, hanging off the side grabbing bull rushes as they went flying by, running from the front to the back and back to the front! Yep! That thing is cool, well kinda cool. All that running around hanging off the side stuff landed my little butt in the bow on a leash. I guess the guys were a little worried I was gonna bail on them.

Gunner's First Duck

Hello everyone!

I am four months old and 37lbs now, and I have a new friend. Someone just left this Green-Wing Teal laying around. I wonder if anyone is missing it. Ahh who cares it's mine now. This thing sure is tasty and so soft.

You Guys don't think your going to get this duck back do ya? I have a little game we can play. It's called, catch me if you can. Y'all should of thought about this before you left it laying around. $20 says I keep the bird. Whoa, easy guys, one more step and the little birdie and I are out of here.

9 Months

Hello Everyone,

I am 9 months old now and 67lbs. I have been a busy boy lately. I am up at day light and train, train, train and when that’s done, there is more training. I must say even though I am working so much, I am having a lot of fun.

All day every day this is me in action!! I can't wait to show everyone who far I have come and what I have learned. See you all in the Fall.

Ok, I see the next mark. Someone come take this dummy from me, I am not allowed to drop this until you take it. I will sit here all day until you come get this dummy.

Gunner's first Waterfowl Season starts off with several Early Goose Hunts. He is doing very well for being a little over a year old. He has made some mistakes, but that is to be expected as he goes through his learning process. All the field training is starting to pay off for this young lad, but it is the actual hunting experiences that is shaping this young dog into one of our finest hunting buddies yet.

This youngster is all charged up about going. The desire and drive Gunner puts into every hunt is second to none. He is still struggling with where to grab those Giant Canadians as they are about half his size, but this is soon to be no issue once we build his confidence up. We are very proud of his performance on the Geese, this is one of the most difficult birds for a young dog to retrieve yet Gunner makes it look all to easy.

What is going on in here guys? Why all the shooting and no ducks hitting the water? I want to do my job, but you guys need to knock those birds down. Did you guys get ripped off on the ammo, is there no shot in those shells?  I will check back in awhile and see how things are going, maybe after lunch we can get on target.
